Path description
From the village centre noticeboard, cross the Green to reach its far left-hand corner, then follow the road a short distance to the Boat Inn. Take the steps opposite the Boat Inn down to the riverbank and turn left. This path meanders through woodland and past houses on the left before views of open fields give a new perspective on the river. Listen to the rippling or rushing water and the birds overhead and keep an eye open for deer in the fields. A couple of hundred metres after a section of rocky foreshore, reach a little wooden foot bridge. Take care as the bridge surface may be slippery and parts of the riverbank have considerable erosion. The path now leads you along an open field which may have crops before rejoining the old path through the trees to reach the end of the field. At this point turn left along the edge of the field, with the sewage works on your right, to reach the Low Road, turn left and follow the road to return to the village.
